Jenny Henman

Plant Your Future
Jenny is the founder of Plant your Future and has a passion for community-based agroforestry and working at the grassroots level. She has over seventeen years experience working in Natural Climate Solutions (NCS). She has a strong track record of implementing successful carbon finance programmes. Her background includes broad ranging technical, commercial and policy experience in the generation of carbon credits from forestry, agriculture and land-use activities. Her track record has spanned the NGO, corporate, consulting and inter-governmental sectors; working for well-known actors such as The World Bank, The Nature Conservancy and BP. Her work has ranged from conducting feasibility studies; to building capacity of local teams in carbon measurement and monitoring; taking projects through certification audits; conducting due diligence for investment and developing corporate strategies and thought-leadership and position papers. Jenny has worked in NCS in Latin America, East and West Africa, S.E. Asia, China, North America and Europe with a range of stakeholders and at different scales. Jenny loves running, playing tennis and walking her dog in her spare time.

Barry brings extensive UK and international experience as the Chief Risk Officer of VisionFund International, an NGO that owns and operates 25 microfinance operations, and is wholly owned by World Vision, one of the world’s largest development NGOs. Prior to joining VisionFund, Barry spent his career working in senior roles in a number of multinationals in the Financial Services and Telecommunications sectors, which included expat roles in Thailand and Denmark. He is professionally qualified both as an accountant and risk professional.
Will Longden

Will is a passionate environmentalist and educator, with a particular interest in sustainability and the inter-relationship between terrestrial land-use, climate change and local communities. He is an experienced Geography teacher, holding a Geography degree from Nottingham University and a PGCE from Cambridge University. In his leadership role as head of Digital Learning at his current school Will has considerable experience with the effective use of technology, not only for improved management and accessibility, but also as a tool to promote relevant skills, learning and engagement with young people for our modern age. In his own Geography lessons he often uses Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing to help learners discover the world around them. He is an experienced project manager, and holds the Prince2 project management qualification. Will coaches Rugby, Hockey and Cricket alongside his love of walking and cycling in the great outdoors.
Toby Parkes

Plant Your Future
Toby is the CEO and Director of Rhizocore Technologies, a company using fungal biodiversity to increase the performance of tree planting operations. Toby previously worked as a researcher at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew where he worked on the Millenium Seed Bank Project to develop cryopreservation and tissue culture techniques for storing and regenerating plant embryos. In addition, Toby holds a PhD in plant microbe interactions and has a passion in understanding how plants communicate and interact with other organisms that they encounter in their environment.

Jaime brings extensive experience in sustainable development in Peru. He is an agronomist by training and specialised in environmental management. He has worked at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) in Lima as a senior specialist in climate change. He has also worked with the World Bank, UNDP, GIZ and The Nature Conservancy, as well as in the private sector. He strongly believes the potential to improve the lives of rural families by recovering and preserving the Amazon’s biodiversity.
Professor Luis Campos Baca

Luis has had a distinguished career and brings a wealth of experience to our Board from leadership positions in Peru. He is the principal professor at the National University of the Peruvian Amazon and holds a doctorate in biology. He holds a biology degree from the National University of Trujillo, a Masters of Science from the University of Southern Illinois and a Doctorate in Environmental Science from the National University of Trujillo, Peru. He held a visiting fellowship at the Watson Institute Brown University, USA. He was president of the Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon (IIAP) as well as Congressman for Loreto. Luis is passionate about promoting Sustainable Development in the Amazon Rainforest and lives in the city of Iquitos.

Taking Pictures, Changing Lives is an organisation that raises funds through crowdfunding activities to provide charities with photographers and videographers at no cost. In August 2018, Adam Dickens travelled to Peru to visit our project, and was able to capture a catalogue of photography and video clips that are now being used across our website and social media channels.
